Pixso (pixso.cn) is an online product design collaboration platform developed by Shenzhen Bosi Yunchuang Technology Co., Ltd. It entered public beta in May 2021 and officially launched in November 2021. Whiteboards, UI/UX design, prototyping and developer handoff all live in a single browser workspace with real-time multiplayer editing, so product managers, designers and engineers can work from requirement mapping to design delivery in the same file. It is frequently positioned as a Figma alternative for Chinese teams, and its verifiable differences are a Simplified Chinese interface, direct access from mainland China, and local support: the site carries an ICP filing, while a separate English edition runs at pixso.net. We include it because it is among the most widely adopted Chinese design-collaboration tools and its free tier is fully usable for individual creators.

Background

Pixso was incubated inside Wondershare Technology (300624.SZ), a Chinese A-share listed software company. It went into public beta in May 2021, and held its official launch event in Shenzhen on November 7, 2021; that same day Wondershare announced Pixso would be spun off as an independent company, Shenzhen Bosi Yunchuang, with a tens-of-millions-yuan seed round (official launch announcement; China Securities Network coverage). Days earlier, Pixso had won the 2021 MVX Annual Innovation Gold Award (official award announcement).

Funding continued after the spin-off: a Pre-A round of nearly CNY 100 million in March 2022, led by CICC Xin Zhi with Baidu Ventures and Yonghua Capital participating (official announcement; Wondershare announcement), and a Series A in January 2024 jointly invested by Shenzhen Hi-Tech Investment, Fosun Capital, Kingdee and JAFCO Asia (official announcement). Public reporting from August 2025 states that Wondershare holds close to 15% of Bosi Yunchuang (Sina Finance).

The company was founded by Huang Yong and is headquartered in Shenzhen. Beyond Pixso, Bosi Yunchuang also runs the boardmix online whiteboard, the Paico AI design generator, and the PPTGO AI presentation tool (official about page). The pricing page states that "over 10,000 enterprises" use the product (the company's own claim, as of 2026-09-19).

Core Capabilities: Whiteboard, Design, Prototype and Handoff in One

Design files. Pixso's design editor covers vector editing, vector networks, auto layout, components, styles and constraints; since version 2.0 it includes a variable system (color, text, number, boolean) for maintaining design tokens, plus variable fonts and bidirectional text (official release notes). Files can be imported from Figma and Axure, and imported/exported for Sketch and Adobe XD — the Figma file importer shipped in March 2022, after Figma suspended DJI's accounts (Tencent News coverage).

Whiteboard and prototyping. The whiteboard is built for inspiration boards, competitive analysis, user-research synthesis and brainstorming, with sticky notes, flowcharts and mind maps. The prototyping module ships with component libraries and device-frame templates; interactions are added by dragging connection lines, and presentations can embed GIFs and video (homepage, release notes).

Collaboration and delivery. Real-time collaboration works through link sharing, with comments (including image attachments), @mentions, and an observer mode that follows a specific collaborator's view for demos and user testing. A developer mode provides measurements, asset slicing and spec inspection; D2C exports designs to front-end code such as HTML or Vue, while the reverse C2D turns code into editable designs (pricing page feature list, official blog).

Resource community and plugins. The site runs a resource community and a plugin marketplace offering design systems, icons, templates and third-party extensions (for example Tencent CoDesign and 3dicons), with libraries such as Ant Design built in (resource community, observation).

AI Design Assistant

Pixso AI is an assistant built into the editor rather than a standalone product. On August 14, 2026 the team announced integration of DeepSeek V4 Pro and V4 Flash as a dual-engine setup: Flash handles fast UI draft and vector-asset generation, while Pro handles information-architecture work in complex business scenarios; the assistant also fills in context-aware Chinese copy and converts designs to code, with no API key configuration required (official blog). Earlier AI capabilities include text-to-image, design-spec generation and an inspiration expert (the official Pixso AI page, observation).

AI usage is metered in "points": personal, team and enterprise points are independent pools, and points for the in-editor AI are not interchangeable with Paico's text-to-design points. Which AI features are available also depends on the seat type (for example, developer seats get whiteboard AI only). The free tier lists "MCP (limited-time free)", and MCP requires the desktop client (official pricing page, as of 2026-09-19).

  • Free: unlimited personal draft files; within team projects, up to 3 design, 3 whiteboard and 3 prototype files, with 3 pages per design/prototype file; 1 variable collection and 2 modes. Suited to individual work and evaluation.
  • Team (listed monthly prices): CNY 68/seat/month for product seats, CNY 38/seat/month for developer seats, CNY 28/seat/month for whiteboard seats; unlimited projects, files and pages, permanent version history, plus team resource and font libraries.

Accounts and Extensibility

Creating files requires a Pixso account (the workspace appears after sign-in). Files are shared via links with configurable collaboration permissions, and viewing is free. Extensibility includes a plugin mechanism (installable both inside the editor and from the marketplace), MCP support for piping design context into external AI tools (requires the desktop client), D2C/C2D code conversion, and SSO plus private deployment on the enterprise tier. The official help center (pixso.cn/help) offers Chinese user guides and video tutorials; no public developer API documentation was found (observation as of 2026-09-19).

Who It's For

  • Product, design and engineering teams in mainland China that need a Chinese-language UI, direct connectivity and local support, or that face procurement and access constraints with overseas tools.
  • Teams migrating from Figma or Sketch: Figma and Axure import plus Sketch/XD import/export make the migration path explicit.
  • Individual designers and students: the free tier's unlimited drafts work for personal portfolios and learning.

Limitations

  • A visibly capped free tier: team projects are limited to 3 files each of design, whiteboard and prototype types, 3 pages per file, and a single variable collection; anything beyond that requires a Team subscription (pricing page).
  • Fragmented AI billing: points are split into personal/team/enterprise pools that cannot be mixed, in-editor AI points are not interchangeable with Paico points, and AI feature availability varies by seat type — cost evaluation requires careful reading.
  • Platform coverage: no Linux client; mobile support is limited to an Android preview app, and whiteboard/prototype files cannot be previewed on phones (download page). No official iOS app was found (observation).
  • Limited internationalization: the English edition at pixso.net exists, but the help center, resource community and support are primarily in Chinese, with less depth in English (observation).
  • Ecosystem gap: the plugin and community-resource library remains smaller than Figma Community's; this is a reasonable inference from both sides' public listings rather than an exact measurement.
  • Enterprise features sit behind enterprise pricing: SSO, a dedicated domain and private deployment are reserved for the Enterprise tier and custom plans, billed annually per seat.

Alternatives

  • Figma: the overseas tool Pixso benchmarks against; larger ecosystem and plugin library, but no official Chinese UI, and procurement/access from mainland China is practically constrained.
