  • Founders are not named on mymind's official pages. Indirect evidence: structured data on the House of van Schneider site, a New York creative studio, states it "builds and runs its own products (mymind, Semplice, Carbonmade, DESK)"; the studio's founder is Tobias van Schneider. Reading, notes and rediscovery

Reading Mode (distraction-free full-text reading), Article Backup (full-text retention even if the source is deleted), Quick Note, Focus Mode for long-form writing, Markdown notes, AI Summaries (articles/PDFs) and PDF Analyzer (tagging + summarizing PDFs) — several of these are Mastermind-only. Accounts and Openness

  • Sign-in: Google account or Apple ID only; email+password registration is not supported. The stated reasons: both methods come with two-factor authentication, mymind exchanges no data with Google/Apple, and Apple sign-in can hide your email address. Limitation: Android currently supports Google sign-in only (official note).
  • Export: full export is available from the account page — individual files (images, PDFs, etc.) saved to a local folder, plus a cards.csv index. Limitation: desktop only, and only in the latest Chrome or Edge (help doc).

Privacy and Data Policy

Privacy is the site's core selling point. Verifiable statements from official documents:

  • Commitments (Manifesto, Our Promise): no ads, no social features, no collaboration, no vanity metrics, no tracking, private forever; user data is never sold; if the company is acquired, users will be notified in advance and can export their data and opt out of the transfer.
  • AI training: the AI Usage Policy (updated 2024-10-31) states plainly, "Your data is not used for training purposes."   • The free tier is tightly capped: 100 cards on the guest plan, without Reading Mode, Same Vibe, custom thumbnails/icons or Advanced AI for notes (help doc).
  • No collaboration and no social features — an explicit design principle ("No collaboration"), so team scenarios are entirely out of scope (Manifesto).
  • No bulk import; export works only on desktop Chrome/Edge (import, export).
  • Google/Apple sign-in only, no email registration; Android supports Google sign-in only (official note).
  • English-only interface; no language options found.
  • Platform compatibility: no official Firefox extension; Android 10/11 no longer supported; only the two most recent stable browser versions and the two latest iOS/macOS generations are supported (help doc, updated 2026-09-28).
